As a senior, would you like a robot caregiver?
Some months ago, I used to be in a nursing home and assisted living. As I noticed, human caregivers are usually underpaid and overworked. Some of them may have bias, and if they don’t like a patient, that influences their care, but robots would give dedicated, reliable care. Most family members typically have jobs and other responsibilities that prevent them from serving as around-the-clock caregivers.
Robots also remove the hesitation of a stranger coming in and not knowing what care you may get. Robots wouldn’t get tired, bored, forget, or just not care. A caregiver of a robot type would allow your family to leave you in your home alone and do not have to move you into an assisted living facility.
In my idea, robot care provides the aid the patient needs while allowing them to have privacy in their home.
