How do old people use smartphones?
Answers
When 8 in 10 younger Americans had a smartphone in 2014, only half of the adult population over 50 owned one. Nowadays, smartphone adoption is 86 percent among Americans aged 50 to 59 and 81 percent for those 60 to 69. At the same time, 62 percent of people aged 70 and older use smartphones. Yet, younger users are more likely to report using their smartphones daily. Older Americans use them mostly for email, directions, online searches, or checking social media.
