My senior parents are not very familiar with the technology. What gadgets or devices (computer, laptop, tablet, Chromebook, iPad, etc.) do you think I should get them?
The easiest one is the best. It should have large text and the ability to change the screen’s contrast (as most do). It should not have any complex features. In my opinion, how technology is utilized is much more important than the technology itself. There should be a straightforward power button and Skype or any interactive platform they may want to use. It should have powerful virus protection and send membership notifications to your e-mail. The bigger, more straightforward, and more direct the set-up, the more successful the interaction with the senior! I would also recommend placing sticky notes on the side of the screen, either physically or virtually, with step instructions for turning on and off the device.
