Many factors such as nerve damage, weak or active muscles, stress, prostate problems, etc., are involved in incontinence. However, incontinence is more prevalent among seniors, which causes depression or anxiety; further, they fail to control essential bodily functions. The good news is that many incontinence products will help seniors deal with this problem and feel better.
1. Sheet protectors
The first helpful product is the sheet protector made of absorbent materials covering and protecting the bedsheet from urine! So, by using this product, the seniors don’t have to wash bed sheets every night.
2. Adult Diapers
The second highly recommended product is adult diapers. Regarding the size and absorbance levels, this product allows seniors to choose the appropriate diaper that fits them. Plus, they can be sure everything is safe and dry when they’re out.
3. Overnight underwear
The third and the best product for nighttime use is overnight underwear, which can hold the liquid for a long time. Overnight underwear provides a better sleep for seniors. For this, they don’t need to change the diaper over and over during the night.
4. Single-use bed pads
Washing washable pads can be demanding and tiring. Nevertheless, disposable ones are easier to use. Seniors can throw them away after each use. They cover the sleeping area and keep it dry.
5. Mattress pad
Sometimes seniors are not comfortable putting something on the bedsheet. Some pads known as mattress protectors can be placed under the sheets covering the whole sleeping area.
6. Penile Clamp
This type of incontinence product is just for men. Seniors place the urethra between two clamp pads and then tighten the penile clamp, and the bladder evacuates.
