A grandparent’s primary duty is to love their grandkids. We want to have fun with them and be there for them when they need us. Parents are frequently overburdened and have insufficient time to dedicate to their children. Grandkids enjoy being the center of attention while playing sports, swimming, or playing video games. Whatever their interests are, the children value their grandparents’ love because it is often a precious item. I’m always teasing them and joking around with them, so they never know if I’m serious or not.
But I have a rule: if my grandchildren or anyone ask the truth, I tell them the truth. And I don’t tell jokes that are insulting to anyone. That, I’m sure, helps them trust me. I remember the saying, “It’s a bigger honor to be trusted than to be loved,” and I try my best to put it into practice.

I think this is not a good question. It seems like you’re forcing the elderly to consider duty for themselves and burden with so much pressure by asking this question. In my opinion, grandparents are blessings; they light up our lives, and just having them in our lives makes them enough.

Grand-parenting can be the significant origin of fulfillment for your grandchild. Like other grandparents, you may find yourself unsure of your role within the family. An intimate relationship benefits the health and well-being of both grandparent and grandchild. The most significant gift of this bond for grandchildren is the endless supply of love, acceptance, patience, and unyielding support that grandparents uniquely have to offer.
As elders, grandparents have the key to the family’s history by telling stories, sharing photos, taking family history trips, and making a family tree.
They act as a safe harbor, helping the grand-kids feel loved and secure by keeping an open door, welcoming confidences, listening non-judgmentally.
With years of life experience, grandparents can direct grand-kids on the path of life by showing encouragement, believing in their dreams, cultivating their strengths.
Grandchildren often look up to their grandparents as worthy models. Your good example will invest positive values in your grandchildren. Your actions speak loud: about how to relate to others, what’s right and wrong, what is essential and what is not.
Teach your grandchildren to respect the qualities of compassion, tolerance, kindness, gentleness, and love, and demonstrate these qualities in your action and speech. Spending time together in nature, sharing charitable activities, listening to your grandchildren’s ideas about the meaning of life is helpful.

First of all, let me rewrite your questions in a better way! What’s the role of grandparents?
Well, most of us had lots of beautiful and sweet experiences with our grandparents. They’re central cores that keep family organs tight together. They could be shelters to refuge and an open book to find so many answers in life. We can easily rely on their emotional and, in many cases, financial support during our tough times. If you have your grandparents among you, you’re one of the blessed ones!
