What is the treatment for sleep paralysis?
There isn’t a cure for it, but there are ways to make it less likely to happen, which I’ll explain. The first thing is to follow a detailed checklist for good sleep habits. Make sure you write down your thoughts before you go to sleep. I also want you to write down what you did that day, what and when you ate, and any supplements or over-the-counter medicines you took. I also want you to write down what you do in the morning.
What you should do: write down how well you slept, any dreams or nightmares you had, and whether or not you had sleep paralysis. That will help you figure out what your triggers are.
Visit your doctor if you have sleep paralysis more than once a month. You don’t need to take the medicines sometimes used for SP if you don’t have any other sleep problems. There are many side effects and risks, and they don’t always work.
