Are there any healthy foods that seniors can eat without cooking?
In my idea, the only healthy foods that don’t need cooking are fruits and some kinds of vegetables. For instance, you can make fruit salad mixed with some low-fat cheese, some nuts such as walnuts, almond slices, pistachio along with olive oil and a bit of lemon, and some pieces of whole-grain bread.
It’s delicious healthy without the need for cooking. You can do the same with vegetables; that is, make a lettuce salad with some tomatoes, avocado, cucumber, onion, grated carrot, and any other vegetable you like. However, most people don’t consider such food for the main meal because they don’t feel full eating them.
I strongly advise avoiding the temptation of going for precooked, frozen, and canned foods. They may help you feel full and be tasty but have almost little nutritional value.
