Are there any hobbies that give you the opportunity to travel around the world?
1. Photography
Well, this one is a bit obvious, isn’t it? But believe me when I say it might just change your life and the entire travel experience! You don’t even need to spend loads on a fancy camera (unless you want to). Most recent smartphones are perfectly suitable to get started. It’s better not to let a lack of professional equipment stop you from this journey. YouTube is always a great source to learn new photography skills. You can also take a bunch of first-class photography courses online.
2. Sketching
Photography is one way to capture a moment but do you want to savour that sight forever? Then try painting it. The painting will allow you to enjoy the scenery for extended periods, focusing on all the details. Your first drawings probably won’t be fantastic, but even if they’re faulty and straightforward, they’ll still be unique. As you know, practice does make perfect. If you’re experiencing “artist’s block,” you can search for drawing ideas online. It’s always good to carry a simple pencil and a medium size sketchbook in your bag. You can also upgrade to other art supplies or take an iPad or a tablet and make digital sketches.
3. Journaling
Journaling while on travel would prove an excellent idea after a year or so, and that’s a promise. Remembering to write every day isn’t easy, but it’s worth it. Over the years, memory starts to fade, but if you keep a journal full of adventures, you can relive them whenever you like. You can even up your game and add sketches, artwork, watercolours, and even boarding passes or postcards to it.
4. Videography and Blogging
Now here’s something you can enjoy and earn money from at the same time. Videos capture your moment better than photos, and even if you never make a cent, you can use a blog as a virtual journal. You can add images or pieces of writing to your videos, whatever works for you, but it’s advisable to leave out private details. And unlike a physical journal, you won’t have to buy a new one when it’s full or worry about losing it.
5. Hiking
Even if it’s just a simple walk around the neighbourhood you’re staying in, you’ll be surprised by what you will remember later when you’re exploring the town on your own two feet. But maybe a carefree walk into the local market would not be enough. Some prefer to spend their vacations on the ground out in the wild. If you get hooked on hiking, it may turn into even more than a hobby. Many travellers plan their entire trip based on hiking opportunities. In the end, you wouldn’t trade these experiences for the world.
