There is always something unfair about how people view some activities as skills that get you somewhere, whether financially or socially. You should be able to follow your passions even if you only do them for fun or whatever other reason. I actually think following music as a hobby is easier and more fun since nothing is pressuring you. Just make time for it and learn the songs you like. You can watch videos on YouTube; some of them are very helpful.
Well, first, listen to fine music. I’d suggest Chopin, Tchaikovsky, and Vivaldi. If you want to learn an acoustic instrument, find your favourite band.
Led Zeppelin and Tool are great bands that can make music come naturally to you. The critical factor would be to practice.
Finding a teacher or a social group to practice together is a great point to start. You can even find fitting resources, online communities, and YouTube channels to assist you along the way.
And don’t limit your solo practice time. You’ll be more motivated with your progress as you practice and learn more.
Music demands some dedication over a long period of time. If you do feel that drive in yourself and have money saved up(this isn’t a cheap hobby), pick up your instrument and play a little every day, even if it’s only for half an hour while you’re watching TV.

If history is your thing, try finding blogs that look into the history of music genres, instruments, and even certain bands. If you can’t decide on your favourite genre, then use these blogs to explore different genres. You’ll eventually find your style.
Invite Your Friends
Make your new hobby more enjoyable by getting your friends excited about it. Together you can start your own fun little band and do practice sessions at home. This way, you manage to improve your musical skills and catch up with friends while doing so.
