Too much exercise can be harmful to anyone at any age. But yes, seniors can be more sensitive when it comes to exercising. Excessive exercise can result in injury and exhaustion, and it can be more challenging for seniors to recover from them. According to some studies, highly intense and highly vigorous exercise increases the chances of heart damage and heart rhythm disorders. Older adults are always advised to exercise moderately to improve their physical and mental health. But pushing too hard is absolutely out of the question. So there are a few tips you need to keep in mind if you want to stay safe while exercising:
• Keep yourself hydrated.
Make sure to drink lots of water before working out, while exercising, and after the end of the session.
• Stop if you feel bad.
The moment you start feeling any pain or sign of sickness, stop and begin exercising when you feel better.
• Endurance increases gradually.
No one can keep up with an overly intense exercise routine from day one. Be gentle and patient with yourself. Progress slowly but constantly.
• Try not to exercise alone.
It is always better to exercise with your friends or a personal trainer to avoid any dangerous situations. Following these tips can help you exercise in the safest way possible.
