Can you travel as a hobby?
Is Travelling a Hobby?
It’s up to varied factors. Some consider it a hobby. For others, traveling is a lifestyle; for some people travelling is a product of happenings because of work or other situations.
First, there are some possible reasons for an individual to travel to diverse countries or leave on the journey of exploring the world. As mentioned earlier, it could be your lifestyle, and it could just be something that you attempt to do as much as possible when time and budget allow.
In most situations, if you’re the type of person who travels when time permits and maybe sees one country per year or less, it could be classified as a hobby at this point. You’re not indeed at the level where we can name it as anything else.
You most certainly can. A hobby is an activity one enjoys doing in their free time; if you enjoy travelling in your leisure time, then it is your hobby. Also, travelling can help you pursue many other hobbies too. For instance, taking a trip to different places and visiting museums and galleries is both a travel hobby and an art hobby at the same time.
Travelling as a hobby can be expensive, depending on how you do it. Sociologists can learn a lot about the rituals and traditions in different parts of the world. Similarly, historians and engineers can enrich their knowledge by visiting monuments and other engineering wonders in distant places.
Why should we try it? To challenge ourselves!
You may feel trapped in a rut and want to try something new and adventurous. Travelling is the best method to put yourself to the test. Traveling as a hobby can teach you more than any crash course ever could. You’ll learn new techniques to do things, which gives you a good feeling of achievement. It’s a unique adventure.
Meeting new people shows there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to life. Travelling introduces you to new experiences with a broader perspective on life. Plus, it allows the mind to stray and assess the situation. Each day brings new challenges and possibilities. The way you deal with those tells a lot about you, and you’ll learn to appreciate how lovely your home is. It can also help to improve your relationships.
When a person enjoys what he regularly does and finds pleasure in it, he can sure as hell call it a hobby. It’s defined as a pleasure-based activity done when not working. So, travelling for pleasure when time allows for not work-related purposes can be named as a hobby.
