What is a botanical garden?

A botanical or botanic garden is a collection of living plants. The plants show relationships in plant groups. Nowadays, most botanical gardens have ornamental plants in a scheme that pinpoints natural relationships. Two functions are used in a botanical garden: eye appeals and taxonomic order.
Plants that people used for medicinal value and are significant now only are of historical interest. An arboretum is a garden of woody plants. The garden can be a part of a botanical garden.
A principal object of botanical gardens is to hold an extensive collection of plants having labels showing their scientific names, region, and origin. The collection of plants in these gardens depends on the land area, and the financial and scholarly resources may vary.
