Why is it bad to eat before going to sleep? Is it even bad at all?
Eating before bed has its pros and cons. You should evaluate the positives and see if you care about the negatives:
• If you want to boost weight loss and fuel your body, have a healthy snack before sleep. Go for something high-protein, low-carb.
• If you want a better night’s sleep, eat your favourite but nutritious food before bed. It helps relax your mind.
• If you don’t want to crave food in the middle of the night, you should eat a healthy snack an hour and a half after dinner.
• If you don’t want to gain weight, don’t eat carb-rich foods before bed. Your body may burn carbs slower at night.
• If you want to avoid heartburn and indigestion, avoid overeating before sleep. Immediately sleeping after eating large meals (especially spicy ones) can cause acid reflux.
