I miss playing sodoku. I used to play it with my son. Othello is a fun game too. I always play it with my grandkid, she’s seven; at first, she didn’t know how to play, but now no one can win playing with her!

I’m a sudoku fan like you. Back when my grandfather was still with us, we used to play sudoku together. He taught me everything about the game, and the competitive 10-year-old me, who never missed the opportunity to turn everything into a contest, decided to steal my mother’s phone so that I could use its timer. I wanted to see who could solve the most sudoku boxes in a specific amount of time. My mom told me, “just use the clock on the wall,” but I never listened. After my grandpa passed away, I started teaching my niece how to play the game. The only difference is that she plays on her iPad, and I still play on pieces of paper.

Oh, what love seniors have for Sudoku! My father is turning 80 this month, and his favourite hobby is to buy printed Sudoku puzzles and spend most of his afternoons solving them. Sometimes I think he loves his Sudoku more than us.

My father was a math teacher for years, and he is retired now. After his retirement, he felt stew. But when I introduced some brain games to him, like sudoku and elevate (an app game), I can see him in a fresher mood.

I have made unforgettable, surprising, and at times hilarious memories with my parents playing games.
They like Finish the Phrase, Name That Tune and Hangman- that’s a good one for those with dementia because you can help them if they can’t think of a letter.
They like Horse Racing (a dice game with horses that move so many spaces per the dice roll), and you can do the same thing with wheelchairs or self-ambulating.
Card toss, ring toss, horseshoes, and even modified bocci are usually fun…

My grandson offered me to play an online video game called Fall Guys. It was super fun and catchy. Because of this game, I ordered a game console to play with my friends, and of course, with my grandson.

I can’t ever forget the very first time my grandma played online backgammon on her tablet. She loves this game and used to play it as a board game but now that she has problems sitting upright, she prefers the online game esp backgammon and can entertain herself for hours playing this with others.

One of the best things about playing Othello is the laughter; it will make you feel so good and happy about everything, and if you are happy, you will be able to enjoy the game with everyone. In this way, you can foster trust and compassion with the people you play the game with.

The games mentioned in this article are too easy. That’s good, but who says that we seniors cannot enjoy more challenging and story-driven games? I recommend playing the Fallout series and the games created by Rockstar (GTA series and Red Dead Redemption series). They’re both entertaining and immersive.

It’s great to see websites like Living Maples encourage seniors to learn different games to play in their free time. Enjoying ourselves can be one of the most rewarding acts of service that we can do towards our bodies and minds. Brain-stimulating games can increase one’s cognitive functions and are a “must-have” for seniors.

I love Sudoku!
It would just be a game more mental than physical for beginners, but for the people who have been playing that for years, it would be an Emotion!! Sometimes they take it for Ego, or they get addicted too.
I’ve been solving this puzzle for a long time, and it has become an addiction. Grab a cup of tea in the morning, or after a stressed day, just sit and solve; seem perfect.
I scribble while solving, and you may not.
Initially, it does take time, but afterwards, it becomes easy; almost all newspapers have this puzzle….
