I couldn’t agree with you more, Natali. When I was 14, my grandfather bought me a Wii as my birthday gift. I remember having difficulty learning how to navigate the device or use the controller during the first week. I wasn’t that great at playing games back then, either.
My parents were always working, so the only person who could spend time playing video games with me was usually my grandpa. We used to play Wii Sports all the time. Unfortunately, he’s not with us anymore, but I still have the console and play with it from time to time.

Thank you for this helpful article. I love playing Just Dance. It’s one of the most fun games I have ever played. The variety of the songs that each Just Dance game has is so high that I could get my 57-year-old mom and 75-year-old grandma to dance in the same room with me.
I like the game because it doesn’t force you to purchase every Just Dance game available to access all the songs. You just need to buy one of the games, then purchase the Just Dance Unlimited service (5.49 CAD per month) to access over 600 songs.

Wii is a unique and nostalgic console that no one will regret buying. I’ve had one since 2009, and I’ve enjoyed every moment of playing games with it. However, I prefer Kinect a bit more when it comes to consoles that help you stay active. Microsoft Kinect is a camera that recognizes your whole body’s movement.
When playing games such as Dance Central, you won’t have to hold a controller in your hand while dancing. Games will also recognize your whole body’s placement and movements instead of just one hand, allowing for a more precise and advanced gaming experience.

Man…Wii Fit Plus is something else, isn’t it?
The entire purpose of those games is to help us improve our balance and exercise. Those games even have running as an exercise you can do. They saved a lot of people during the pandemic, me included…but since that’s over, we can mix things up.
If you want to actually exercise, don’t use video games. Hike outside, get some sun, interact with friends and neighbors… and play real sports that don’t require a screen.
