What are some good social activity games for senior citizens?

• Fact or Fiction:
Pass out paper and pens, numbers based on the number of your questions. You read a strange statement to the participants and ask them to write on the right line whether it’s a fact or fiction. Read through the answers at the end. Top winners get rewards.
• Topic Trivia:
You can think up various trivia topics for this game. Play this in teams or separately; in a bus, at a party, or around a table. You can also keep score or not. Write down answers, or not – maybe call them out for fun. Adjust this according to your crowd.
• Guess Who Game:
Ask everyone in your group to bring a childhood photo of themselves and write their name on the back. Then put a post-it note with a number on the front. Attach them to a bulletin board. Give everyone in the group a pen and paper, with a list of all the numbers. After each number, they write which person they assume the child was. Whoever gets the most right wins a reward.
• What I Loved as A Child:
The elderly can also have fun reminiscing. Walk around the room and ask each person to discuss their favourite activity or hobby when they were a child. Did they resume it as they grew? Why did that activity entice them? Are they still interested today? If not, would they want to? Is there a way to still enjoy the action if it’s no longer possible? Would others present be interested? Sometimes interesting friendships or groups can be created this way, or interests revived. And it is sure to spark fun memories and a few laughs.
